Digital India: Free Wi-Fi service launched at Patna, Ranchi & Visakhapatnam station

Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu on Friday launched free Wi-Fi service at three more railway stations across India via video conferencing. These stations are at Patna in Bihar, Visakhapatnam in Odisha and Ranchi in Jharkhand. So far, Mumbai Central, Bhubaneshwar, Kachiguda, Vijayawada, Raipur, Bhopal and Jaipur have got Wi-Fi facility. The minister said the government planned to introduce the service at all major railway stations in the country in three years.

“By this year-end, free Wi-Fi facility will be in place at 100 major railway stations. We will achieve our target of 400 stations in three years. Once in place, it will be the largest public Wi-Fi system in the world,” Prabhu told reporters here. The service was commissioned by RailTel, a mini-Ratna public sector undertaking, in association with Google for providing high-speed Internet to rail commuters at these places.

The services will be provided under ‘Railwire’, the retail broadband distribution model of Railtel. Mumbai Central was the first railway station in the country with free Wi-Fi facility. Last year, Google India and Indian Railways joined hands to introduce high-speed Wi-Fi network at 400 stations in the country.

Empire Season 2 comes to an end this Sunday, May 22 on FX and FX HD

MUMBAI: Empire, the show that made its viewers go through a maelstrom of emotions is now approaching its end with its Season 2 finale this Sunday, May 22nd at 10 PM on FX. The show stars Academy Award nominated actor Terrence Howard as protagonist Lucious Lyon, as he weathers a life of drug dealer to rise through the ranks to become a hip-hop mogul, only to see his life crash and burn as he is diagnosed with ALS.
Empire Season 2 depicts the rat race to the summit that Lucious’ family comprising of his three sons – Jamal, Andre and Hakeem, his wife Cookie and himself, undergo as heseeks to pass the mantle to one of his sons. The second season starts with the #FreeLuscious concert organized by his ex-wife to end Lucious’s incarceration. The season picks up pace as the entire family is embroiled in controversies and machinations as their quest to be the top dog, heats up. Cookie Lyon, Luscious’s ex-wife, despite their murky past, stands firm with her flawed husband and his tribulations. The depiction of Cookie has won Taraji Penda Henson quite a few laurels with the audience and pundits alike. She also won the Golden Globe award for her performance. This season also showcases the identity of Luscious and lets us know the enigmatic ex-drug dealer a much better.
As Empire Season 2 comes to fruition, Rhonda seeks to confront Annika, believing her to the one who pushed her down the stairs. Rhonda also comes to blows with Annika, with the latter pleading innocence. We still in remain in the dark regarding the culprit. We also witness the moment that had the viewer’s gasp in disbelief as Jamal gets shot. The Lyon family has a lot on their plate with Jamal getting shot and a wedding on the cards. The finale episode shall seek to answer the various questions in the minds of the viewers.

MUMBAI: Romedy Now is set to telecast popular high-school comedy with the Indian television premiere of ‘The DUFF’, on Sunday, 22 May, at 9 pm. Directed by Ari Sandel and starring Mae Whiteman (Bianca Piper), Robby Amell (Wesley ‘Westlake’ Rush), Bella Thorne (Madison Morgan) and Nick Eversman (Toby Tucker) in the main roles, ‘The DUFF’ (Designated Ugly Fat Friend) is set in a high school. The movie revolves around the dreams and insecurities of nervous teenagers who aspire to be the most popular ones in school. In this taut but fun environment, Bianca Piper (played by Mae Whiteman) is a kind-hearted, helpful and ever-smiling person who doesn’t see through the fact that all the guys seem to use her goodness in order to get to her friends prettier friends. However, when realisation dawns on her, Bianca doesn’t cave in. She decides to take matters into her own hands and change her image. She turns to her neighbour and childhood friend Wesley for help to revamp her personality so that she can approach her crush in college, Toby Tucker. In return, she helps Wesley to study science.

Apple's Cook meets Modi; discusses manufacturing possibilities

Showing interest in making Apple products in India, the global technology giant's chief Tim Cook on Saturday discussed with Prime Minister Narendra Modi the "possibilities of manufacturing" and tapping the young talent pool in the country.

On his maiden visit to India, the Apple CEO also discussed with Modi issues regarding cyber-security and data encryption.

"Cook shared Apple Inc's future plans for India. He spoke of the possibilities of manufacturing and retailing in India.

He appreciated the breadth of young talent in India and said the youth have significant skills which Apple would like to tap," an official statement said.

The head of the US-based Apple, which makes iconic iPhones and Mac computers, has already announced during this trip setting of an app development centre in Bengaluru and one for maps in Hyderabad.

During his meeting with Modi, Cook highlighted the immense potential for app development in the country. He also launched an updated version of the PM's mobile app at the meeting.

He narrated to Prime Minister the experiences including a visit to Siddhivinayak temple in Mumbai and watching a cricket match in Kanpur.

Modi, appreciating Cook, said in India "seeing is believing" and added these experiences would definitely steer his business decisions.

After the meeting, Modi tweeted: "Thank you @tim_cook! Friends, welcome & happy volunteering. Your views and efforts are always enriching." He also shared photos with the Apple CEO on his Twitter handle.

Cook, in a response, tweeted: "Thanks PM @narendramodi for a great meeting. Already looking forward to next visit to India. Best wishes on the app!"

He also appreciated Prime Minister's initiatives on ease of doing business and renewable energy, the statement read.

A few interesting leaked photos of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy C5 and C7 handsets have sprouted at the world wide web. Let’s take a look at some of their interesting feats and let’s get up close to these leaked photos and find out more about them as a whole.

Firstly, let’s start things off with the leaked photos. Some are live photos, which shows off the Samsung Galaxy C5 and C7’s design, which kinda incorporates a few inspiration from Apple’s iPhone series and Huawei’s Mate 8, exterior-wise. Meizu MX6 image and specs gets leaked online

Meizu already introduced the Pro 6 this year, as well as a budget Meizu m3 note, set in the China market. However, it seems that they still have a few goodies in the goody bag, as they’re looking to introduce a new member in the MX-series, the successor to the Meizu MX5, none other than the Meizu MX6.

First off, the new Meizu MX6 will feature a few interesting upgrades since it’s a 2016 handset. It’ll boast a 5.5-inch 1080p FHD display and will feature a yet-to-be-released MediaTek Helio X20 chip. RAM and ROM-wise, the Meizu MX6 will provide everyone with diverse options, such as a 3/4GB of RAM and a 16/32/64GB of ROM.
Sadly, like the Meizu MX5, the Meizu MX6 still won’t feature a microSD card, though of course, we still have our fingers crossed and still hoping that Meizu will change their minds.

Shooting-wise, it has a decent 20.7MP or 21MP/8MP camera pairing, which shows only a few adjustments from its predecessor (The MX5 has a 5MP selfie shooter). Lastly, it boasts an Android 6.0 Marshmallow and a 4000mAh battery capacity.
