Idea reveals Rs 595 plan; the new long-validity offer comes with 10GB data and unlimited voice
Idea has just launched a new long-term validity plan priced at Rs 595. This new plan is aimed at its prepaid users offering unlimited voice calls along with 100 SMS per day for 112 days. Unlike other plans that Idea offers along with its competition, this plan does not focus on the amount of data that it provides its users and just focuses on people who want to make voice calls or communicate with the help of SMS. The company has also added 10GB data along with the plan which may seem good on its own, but when compared with other plans by its competition, 10GB data for more than three months does not mean much.
Prepaid users “across all the major circles” can opt for this plan as reported by Telecomtalk.info. However, one thing to note here is that even though the company is claiming unlimited calls on paper, the voice calls are limited to 250 minutes outgoing calls per day and 1000 minutes outgoing calls per week. If the users end up crossing the 250 minutes or 1000 minutes market then they will be charged 60 paise per minute. Though the calls are not limited to any particular network.
The limitations don’t end there as users will be charged 60 paise per minute if they make calls to more than 100 unique numbers on the last seven days. The point to note here is that this one paisa per second charge will continue “for the rest of validity of recharge”. This means that one has to be careful to not cross this limit.
The offer also gives “free-roaming benefit” to the users opting for the plan but that is limited to Idea Cellular network as pointed in the report. Talking about the limited data offering, if and when the users cross the limit, they will be charged with 4 paise per 10kb making it a costly proposition and this means Rs 4 per MB.
